Flexible working hours for public servants, pilot project to be launched

As a solution to rising traffic congestion, the government is planning to introduce flexible working hours for public servants.

The pilot project will get underway on 18th of this month.

The pilot project will be commenced initially at Battaramulla and public servants will be able to report to work any time between 7.30am and 9.15am.

Thereafter, they can leave the office after completing their working hours at any time between 3.15pm and 5.30pm.

However, the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration said public servants should remain in their working places from 9.15am to 3.15pm.
