Former Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and former Director General of State Printing Corporation, Jayampathi Bandara were released on personal bail today (11).

Colombo Chief Magistrate gave the order when a case against them was taken up this morning.

The former Minister is accused of using funds from the State Printing Corporation to settle his monthly mobile phone bill of 230,000 rupees.

This case has been filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

MP Rambukwella was released on a personal bail of Rs. 500,000.

Meanwhile, the Bribery Commission has filed 13 cases against the former DG of the State Printing Corporation, accusing of misappropriating Rs. 80mn of state funds, disregarding financial regulations.

He was also released on a personal surety of Rs. 500,000.
