The Supreme Court ordered today (12) to hear a petition filed by the Sri Lanka Medical Council against a ruling given by the Court of Appeal relating to SAITM in Malabe, on Thursday.

The order was issued when this petition was taken up before a 3-member bench today. The bench is comprised of Justices Buwaneka Aluwihare, Priyantha Jayawardena and Nalin Perera.

Recently, the Appeals Court ordered the SLMC to register a student of SAITM in Malabe provisionally as a medical practitioner in terms of section 29(2) of the Medical Ordinance.
