The Presidential Commission of Inquiry, probing the controversial bond issuance, has issued summons to former Central Bank Governor Arjun Mahendran to appear before the Commission on 19th of September.

Meanwhile, earlier while making an order, the Bond Commission said that the PTL owner Arjun Aloysius is required to give evidence. But it added that he is not compelled to give evidence if he is not willing to do so.

Arjun Aloysius arrived at Bond Commission


The owner of Perpetual Treasuries Limited, Arjun Aloysius has arrived at the Bond Commission.

He was summoned to the Commission to record evidence.

Arjun Aloysius to appear before Bond Commission to give evidence today

Perpetual Treasuries owner Arjun Aloysius is scheduled to appear and give evidence before the Presidential Commission probing the controversial bond issue, today (13).

The Commission has already issued the relevant summons to Aloysius.

Although the team of lawyers appearing for Arjun Aloysius tried hard to prevent their client from being appearing before the Commissio their attempt was not successful.

Prior to this, the CID Unit, the Investigation Division of the Commission had questioned Arjun Aloysius for five days.    

Meanwhile, Acting Solicitor General and President Counsel Dappula de Livera who quoted unofficial sources informed the Bond Commission yesterday (12) that Arjun Aloysius has fled the country.

At that point, the President Counsel appeared for Arjun Aloysius rejected the particular claim and said that his client will appear before the Bond Commission today.

A team of policemen visited Arjun Aloysius’s residence yesterday as he failed to provide his bank details to the Commission.
