The Attorney General's Department today (14) informed the Supreme Court that the Government is still having discussions with relevant stakeholders regarding the SAITM issue.

Additional Solicitor General Sanjay Rajaratnam informed this, when a petition filed by Sri Lanka Medical Council against a verdict given by the Court of Appeal, which directed the SLMC to give provisional registration to a student of SAITM.

The 3-member bench, considering the submission, postponed the case to tomorrow.

The bench also ordered that if there's consensus between the government and other stakeholders on the SAITM issue, to inform it to the Supreme Court.
