The Met Department said that sea areas could be rough at times during the next 3 days.

Showery conditions over the South-western part and in the North-western province are expected to enhance tonight (16) and tomorrow (17).

Strong winds can be expected over the country, particularly in the Northern, North-central, Uva and North-western provinces and in Hambantota district and surrounding sea areas.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at few places in the Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2 p.m.

The sea area off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Kankesanthurai and the sea area off the coast extending from Hambantota to Pothuvil can be rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 55 to 60 Kilometers per hour.
