CEB strike continues

The CEB employees’ strike continues on for a 6th day today (18).

Minister of Labour, W. D. J. Seneviratne has agreed to have a discussion with the CEB employees this afternoon (18) in an attempt to solve the issues.

Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, Ranjith Siyamabalapitiya will also attend the discussion scheduled to begin at 2.30pm.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister Ajith P. Perera said he anticipates that the issue will be resolved this afternoon.

The CEB employee unions began this strike last Wednesday (13) urging the authorities to solve their salary anomalies and investigate an alleged fraud relating to the salaries of high ranking CEB officials.
