Issuing a media release, the Ministry clarified the government's position as there are reports of Rohingya refugees entering into Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Navy on the 30th of April, 2017 rescued 30 Rohingya refugees and they left the island after a court ordered to hand them over to UNHCR last month, according to the Ministry.

The Ministry added Sri Lanka returned a number of Rohingya refugees to the UNHRC previously when they arrived in Sri Lanka.
