The CEB workers on strike are having a crucial discussion with Labor Minister W.D.J. Senevirathna at this moment.

The meeting started at 1pm is represented by all CEB trade unions.

A spokesman from the Labor Department stated that an agreement is ready to be signed with regard to the issues of the strikers.

A senior department spokesman told our news team that the ongoing strike will probably be called off after the signing of the agreement today.

Meanwhile railway trade unions have decided to suspend the strike they planned to launch at midnight today demanding settlement to salary anomalies.

This decision has been taken after a discussion the trade unions had with Secretary of the Prime Minister Saman Ekanayake this morning.
