Rathupaswala case: CID reports to court on weapons

The Criminal Investigation Department informed the court that the 40, T-56 weapons sent to the Government Analyst, to be tested, have not used in firing at Rathupaswala.

The CID informed this to the court, when the case was taken up before Gampaha Additional Magistrate, Lalith Kannangara today (20).

The Additional Magistrate also ordered the 2 army men, who are in custody, to be further remanded until 4th of October.

The Brigadier, who is accused of ordering to shoot and another sergeant were granted bail in a previous hearing.

When the military opened fire at demonstrators, who demanded clean drinking water, 3 persons were killed in Rathupaswala. The incident took place in August 2013.
