GMOA and Teacher Unions launch Anti-SAITM strike

The Government Medical Officers’ Association says that Health, Education and several other Trade Unions are launching an island-wide token strike from this morning (21).

They are urging the government to abolish Malabe Private Medical College.

Meanwhile, the General Secretary of the Lanka Teacher Services Union Mahinda Jayasinghe said 12 unions are jointly supporting the strike.

Our Vavuniya reporter said that doctors have not reported to work there.
