National Child Protection Authority has commenced an investigation into an incident where 250 school children were used to set a Guinness record in Kandy.

Here, the organizers used around 250 schoolchildren to display the fall of a traditional Kandyan sari (Osariya).

The fall was around 3km long and students of Alawathugoda Primary School lined up along the Kandy-Gannoruwa Road displaying it.

It was organized by a beautician in the area. And the Chief Minister of Central Province, Sarath Ekanayake was the Chief Guest at the occasion.

Meanwhile, the teacher unions while criticizing the move, claimed that strict legal action should be taken against those who responsible for using schoolchildren in such acts.
