Police launch special programme to book Traffic law breakers

A special programme was launched in Colombo today (23) to identify drivers who break traffic laws in order to take legal actions against them.

Police said this programme will be implemented in the city of Colombo for few weeks starting from today.

According to this programme, the police officers in civvies will travel in vehicles covering different parts of the city, to identify traffic law violators.

Then the uniformed police officers will step into to book them.

The programme was launched at the Nelum Pokuna Junction, in Colombo, under the patronage of IGP, Pujith Jayasundera.

Police said this is part of a programme to develop disciplined drivers.
