Ceylon Petroleum Corporation says no decision has been taken to increase the prices of petrol and diesel.

When contacted, CPC Chairman Dhammika Ranatunga said the CPC cannot take a decision alone to revise the fuel prices. He said it involves multiple state agencies.

However, Lanka IOC Managing Director, Shyam Bohra said they are planning to upwardly revise the fuel prices next month.

He added that no decision has been reached on the amount of the increase.

When contacted, he told "Hiru News", that they have informed the government either to ease taxes on fuel or increase the prices.

He also said the company is incurring losses at present, due to the rising prices in the global markets.
