JO goes to Supreme Court against Provincial Council amendment

The Joint Opposition will file seven petitions in the Supreme Court today and tomorrow against the Provincial Council Elections Amendment Act.

Former Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva has already filed a Fundamental Rights petition against the Act, before the Supreme Court.                   

In his petition, he requests the Supreme Court to issue an order to the Election Commission to hold the election according to the old method.
