President says Buddhist community should respect and protect Maha Sangha

President Maithripala Sirisena says that while it is a primary responsibility of the Buddhist community to safeguard the good name of the Maha Sangha.

He added that the Buddhist clergy should not act in a manner that disintegrates society’s respect for them.

The President expressed these views while unveiling of a new Buddha statue at the Dangedera Sri Jayawardhanarama Temple in Galle yesterday (02).
