Mt. Lavinia protest: Police reveal details of 2 suspects

Police have unearthed information relating to 2 of the suspects, who are accused of creating a tense situation at a UN High Commissioner for Refugees' Colombo Office run detention centre in Mount Lavinia.

The incident occurred on 26th of September.

Those details have come to light during investigations carried out by the Colombo Crimes Division. 

One of them was an interdicted police officer and he has 3 cases at the Panadura Magistrate Court.

One case was relating to an attack on a mosque and the other case was related to the threatening of a principal of a girl's school in Panadura.

The other suspect is Venerable Arambepola Rathanasara Thera, who is also accused of involving in the Mt. Lavinia incident.

The Buddhist monk and the other suspect are evading arrest and Police seek public assistance to arrest them.
