No Colombo student within first 16 of Grade 5 scholarship ranking

According to the results sheet of this year's Grade 5 scholarship exam, none of the candidates from the district of Colombo has been able to win a place within the first 16 places.

The first place in the 2017 Grade 5 scholarship exam has been secured by W.K. Dinuka Krishan Kumar of the Negombo, Harischandra Vidyalaya scoring 198 marks.

2 students who had secured the second place scoring 197 marks each - M.A.M Indumini Jayaratne of Gampaha, Welipillawa Primary School and T.M. Sanjana Nayanajith of Thulhiriya Primary School

In 3rd place, obtaining a score of 196 was secured by, D. A. Tharul Sahas Darmaratne of the Kirillawela Primary School.

It is noteworthy that 12 students were ranked jointly at 4th place.

The cutoff marks for grade 5 scholarship exams in Sinhala and Tamil medium were also issued.

The highest Sinhala medium cutoff marks for Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Matale, Galle, Matara, Kurunegala and Kegalle districts stands at 164.

The lowest Tamil medium cutoff marks for the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Matale, Galle, Matara, Kurunegala and Kegalle districts stands at 156.
