Meteorological Department says prevailing showery condition is expected to continue during next few days, particularly in the South-western part of the island and Eastern province.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.

Several spells of showers may occur in North-western and Northern provinces.

Moreover, showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Eastern and Uva provinces after 2 pm.

Fairly heavy showers about 75 mm can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts

Fairly strong gusty winds about 40-50kmph can be expected in the Hambantota district.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.

The public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
