Four more petitions were filed before the Supreme Court today (06) against the Fundamental Rights petition filed former Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva against the Provincial Council Election Amendment Act.

The four petitions were filed by TNA MP M. A. Sumanthiran, Attorney-at-Law Rajika Kodituwakku and Puravasi Balaya convener Gamini Viyangoda.

The former Chief Justice filed the petition on the 28th of last month stating that the Act had been passed in Parliament in an illegal manner.

This petition is scheduled to be taken up for consideration on 9th this month.
