The residents of Mahiyanganaya staged a silent protest in front of the Divisional Secretariat seeking a solution to wild elephant issue that they are faced with.

The protestors have arrived in the Mahiyangana town in a vehicle parade from Dehigolla.

While they were protesting in front of the Divisional Secretariat, Minister Jayawickrema Perera chaired a meeting with the relevant officials inside the premises.

The topic was the wild elephant issue. Another meeting will be held here to further discuss the issue and give solutions.
