Former Test Captain, Minister Arjuna Ranatunga has asked Sports Minister Dayasiri  Jayasekera as to why the identification and punishing of the officials linked to fixing of Kalutara-Panadura match are delayed.

The alleged fixing of the Kalutara-Panadura match was an organized crime, the Minister in a letter addressed to the Sports Minister says.

The incident which occurred in January this year was probed by a committee appointed by the Sri Lanka Cricket.

However, it recommended punishments only to players and the coaches and officials were spared.

Former Test player, Chamara Silva, who was well-known for his good and honest qualities, was among the players, who were banned.

Later, the ban was lifted temporarily and allowed the players to participate in domestic matches.
