Chief Dealer of Perpetual Treasuries Limited, Nuwan Salgado made a startling revelation at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry probing the bond controversy today (12).

He submitted a report containing details of bribing informants to get confidential information from EPF, ETF and other institutions.

The former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran was also testified before the Commission for the last time.

He told the Commission that he did not act as a dictator and he was compelled to withdraw certain proposals amid the objection of certain top officials.

Meanwhile, The PTL Chief Dealer Nuwan Salgado submitted a list of bribes the company paid to certain individuals who provided secret information to the company.

When the Commission inquired who were introduced under nicknames such as Charley, Car, Tango, Little John and Wolverine, the witness said Indika Saman Kumara who is responsible for bidding on behalf of EPT is named as Charley.

Little John is used to naming the person who provided secret information of ETF.

Salgado also said that his name is Kaveen Karunamuni.

He said Wolverine is the Chief Dealer of a state bank Naveen Anurada.

He further said that the bribes paid to them during the tenure of a former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal were about 94 million rupees.
