Investigations reveal missing girl kept to be employed as a domestic aid

The young mother and the 2 teenage girls of Salamulla in Kolonnawa who were reported missing since last Saturday (14) surrendered to police this morning.

Police investigations revealed that the young mother and the two girls were detained to be employed as domestic servants.

Accordingly, Wellampitiya police arrested two women including an 84-year old woman for aiding and abetting the racket.

19-year-old Malki Wathsala who surrendered to police this morning is a mother of one child and, 15-year-old Yasanthi Madushani Perera is her cousin.

Later, Police questioned a youth who has allegedly had an affair with one of the girls.

The 19-year-old woman and the 15-year old girl surrender to police thereafter.

Altogether 4 persons are in police custody over this incident.

Further investigations into the incident are being conducted by Wellampitiya Police.
