Officer-in-Charge of Raththota Police, who was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a Gramaseva Officer, has been interdicted.

He was accused of sexually abusing the victim in April this year, while her husband was hospitalized with dengue.

The accused was serving as the OIC of Ududumbara Police during that period.

Police Media Unit said that IGP Pujith Jayasundera ordered his interdiction with the approval of the National Police Commission.

The accused OIC was arrested on 11 of this month after the victim had lodged a complaint with IGP.

A special police team arrested the accused.
