24 persons killed this year....

National Council for Road Safety says so far this year 24 persons have died while trying to take selfies on railway tracks.

The Council also said 180 others have died after being hit by trains while walking on railway tracks.

However, the railway authorities constantly say that a mechanism will be introduced to take legal action against those who behave dangerously on rail tracks.

But that pledge is yet to be implemented.

In the recent past, a number of tragic deaths were reported in several parts of the country of those who attempted to take selfies on railway tracks.

In Colpetty, two brothers died after collided with a train. They were trying to take a selfie disregarding an oncoming train.
