The Deputy Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Ashok Abeysinghe has promised the railway trade unions to find a solution to the railway worker grievances after discussing them with the Prime Minister.

This pledge was given at a discussion held this morning (20) at the Department of Railways.

The President of the Railway Guards’ Union Janaka Fernando told our news team that he is expecting the Deputy Minister to announce the government's stand by 2 pm today which will decide the future course of action.

The railway commuters faced serious inconveniences due to the strike that was launched last week.
