Colombo High Court has granted bail to Convener of the Medical Faculty Students' Action Committee, Ryan Jayalath this morning (23).

He was in remand custody after being accused of entering the Health Ministry forcefully and damaging property there.

The revised bail application filed by Ryan Jayalath was taken before Colombo High Court Judge A. A. R. Heiyantuduwa this morning.

The judge who released Ryan Jayalath on a personal bail of 500,000 rupees ordered that one of the sureties should be a parent of Ryan Jayalath.

At the same time, the High Court Judge who prohibited Ryan Jayalath to participate in any protest again said that bail will be cancelled and the suspect will be remanded again if he breaks any of those bail conditions.

Further, the Judge ordered the Director of the Colombo Crime Division to observe whether the suspect is honouring the court orders.

Meanwhile, Minister Lakshman Kiriella said that President Maithripala Sirisena will announce the stance of the Government on SAITM today (23).

He said this following an event at the Kandy District Secretariat today.
