Ukuwela missing person's body found from Mahaweli River

The body of 38-year-old Chaminda Ekanayake, who was reported missing from 15th of this month, had been recovered from Mahaweli River in the Thannekumbura area.

Police had found the body on 19th.

Ekanayake, who was a father of two, had left the home on the 15th to buy a cake for his second child's birthday.

Later police found his car, parked close to the Black Bridge in Katugastota.

His mobile phone was also inside the vehicle.

Police said he may have jumped to the Mahaweli River to end his life due to a family dispute.
