Hiru CIA recently exposed a place where fruits unsuitable for consumption are washed and cleaned and then release again to the market to be sold, to unsuspecting consumers.

When the officials of the Consumer Affairs Authority visited that place situated at the Fifth Cross Road in Pettah, following our exposure, the workers were seen cleaning oranges which were unsuitable for consumption.

When the workers were questioned, they said that a leading fruit importing company gave those stocks to them.

The CAA officials visited that company and questioned the personnel there..
