A request made by the owner of Perpetual Treasuries Limited, Arjun Aloysius to visit Singapore was rejected by Colombo Fort Magistrate, Lanka Jayarathne today (25).

A lawyer appearing on behalf of Aloysius filed a motion today requesting to withdraw the previous overseas travel ban imposed on his client.

However, the request was rejected on the grounds that Arjun Aloysius has not yet been produced before Court and has been named as a respondent of the controversial Central Bank Bond issuance.

4 top officials of Perpetual Treasuries Limited were banned from leaving the country on 2nd of October after allegations were made against them in connection with the Bond Scam.

Among those who were banned from overseas travel are the owner of Perpetual Treasuries Limited, Arjun Aloysius, its CEO, Kasun Palisena, company Chief dealer, Nuwan Salgado and Chief Technical Officer, Sachin Devatantri.

Meanwhile a primary dealer, S. Padumanadan filed a petition at the Supreme Court citing that the Bond Commission violated his fundamental rights during his testifying.

The petition has cited 20 respondents in his lawsuit including the 3 Judges of the Bond Commission.
