Sisters die in motorcycle-lorry collision in Anuradhapura

Police say, two women, who are sisters, were killed when their motorcycle collided head-on with a lorry in Bulathkulama on the Anuradhapura-Puttalam main road this morning (26).
 
Police said that the lorry was transporting cattle.
 
The women were admitted to Anuradhapura Hospital after the accident which had occurred at around 7.30 am.
 
However, they had died due to their injuries.
 
The elder sister was 32-year-old Jayani Swetha Jayakody and the younger sister was Samadi Navodya who was 29-years-old.
 
The victims are residents of Galadivulwewa, Nochchiyagama.
 
The bodies are kept at the Anuradhapura Hospital and the postmortem will be held tomorrow.
 
The driver has been arrested.
