A 4-member delegation from the European Parliament, led by Jean Lambert, will visit Sri Lanka this week.

The delegation will meet government and civil society representatives to discuss Sri Lanka's progress on national reconciliation and its implementation of the international conventions applicable to GSP+.

The MEPs will also visit EU-funded projects in the North and will conduct an inter-parliamentary dialogue.

Meanwhile, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull will arrive in Sri Lanka on Thursday (02) following his state visit to Israel.

The statement said the Australian Premier will meet with President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe for discussions during his stay in Sri Lanka.

The Australian Premier said this year also marks the 70th anniversary of Australia’s bilateral relationship with Sri Lanka, and he is delighted to be able to visit Sri Lanka on his return from Israel.
