Affiliates of Joint Opposition to contest separately at LG polls

Six political parties that represent the Joint Opposition have decided to contest independently for several districts in the forthcoming Local Government polls.
The Deputy General Secretary of Sri Lanka Communist Party S. Sudasinghe told our news team that 5 political parties representing the Social People’s Front and Mahajana Eksath Peramuna are having discussions to contest under one symbol.
However, these parties have also decided to contest for certain districts under the political alliance to be formed by the Joint Opposition in the near future.
