Department of Meteorology says several spells of showers will occur in the Northern, Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Hambanthota districts over the next 24 hours.

Showers or thundershowers are predicted elsewhere after 2 pm.

Department of Meteorology also said that heavy falls about 75-100 mm within next 24 hours can be expected at some places, particularly in Sabaragamuwa province and in the Kalutara, Galle, and Matara districts.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.

Department of Meteorology also said that there may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers and the general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
