It is reported that long queues continue to prevail nearby fuel stations in Colombo and suburbs.

On 17th of October, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation refused to allow a petrol shipment imported by Lanka IOC to unload stating that its petrol is of inferior quality.

Meanwhile, another shipload of fuel imported by the CPC was also delayed due to unknown reasons.

However, the Ministry of Petroleum Resources stated that there were sufficient stocks available until new stocks arrive in the country.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the tanker, named 'Neverska Lady' of the United Arab Emirates is sailing under the Liberian flag in the Western seas off India at this moment.

The tanker is carrying 47,746MT of fuel.

The tanker is scheduled to arrive in Muthurajawela tonight.

The Petroleum Resources Ministry said that a team of laboratory technicians will set off to test the oil for quality when the tanker arrives.

Meanwhile, the Ministerial subcommittee appointed to look into the fuel crisis met this morning (08).
