President tells missing persons’ relatives that there are no secret camps

President Maithripala Sirisena says that the current government does not run any secret camps and detain anyone in a camp.

A discussion was held between missing persons’ family members and the President at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday.

The President said that he had a thorough insight about the problems of all sections of the people and that the government including him is committed to resolve them openly and fairly.

Furthermore, he attested that his government don’t have at least one secret camp.

On this occasion, the President also instructed that a new application is provided for gathering complaints and requests of missing persons’ family members through district secretaries.
