Bond Commission report to be presented to President before Dec. 08

The witness hearing on the Presidential Commission of Inquiry that probed the controversial Central Bank bond issuance ended the witness hearings today (20).
 
The Commission said that the final report will be handed over to the President before 8th of December.
 
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe told the Presidential Commission today (20) that he advised the former Central Bank Governor to turn the then Treasury Bond Issuance mechanism into a more transparent one.
 
The Prime Minister further said that he anticipated the bond issuance would have been conducted according to a legal method.
 
Prime Minister Wickremesinghe arrived at the Bond Commission at around 9.50 this morning.
 
Our correspondent stated that a large number of ministers and government MPs including Mangala Samaraweera, Rajitha Senarathna, Tilak Marapana, Sagala Rathnayake, Eran Wickramarathna, Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, Daya Gamage, Ruwan Wijewardene and Ajith P Perera also arrived at the Commission.
 
The Prime Minister informed the Bond Commission recently that he was ready to appear before the Commission after his name was mentioned during testimonies were obtained.
