A group of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation officials lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department this afternoon (20).

They urged the CID to investigate into an alleged group of persons who are spreading rumours of a non-existing fuel shortage.

The officials noted that rumours are being spread using sms's.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Petroleum Resources Development issuing a media statement said there's no need to panic as there are enough stocks available with CPSTL.

The Ministry has also introduced the hotline 011 5455130 to inform about any fuel shortage or related issues.
