Update: Supreme Court orders to submit complete voice recording of Ranjan Ramanayake

The Supreme Court has ordered to submit the full voice recording of Ranjan Ramanayake containing statements of his alleged contempt of court.
 
It was asked to be submitted on 14th of December.
 
This order was issued when Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake appeared before the Supreme Court this morning (21).

This case against the Deputy Minister was taken up before Chief Justice Priyasad Depp, Eva Wanasundara, and Vijith Malalgoda.

He was in Supreme Court for a case filed against him accusing him of contempt of court.

 
Notices were issued to the Deputy Minister to appear before the court when this case was taken up on 25th of last month.
 
The General Secretary of "Sinhala Ravaya" Ven. Magalkande Sudatta Thera and a retired Air Force officer Sunil Perera have filed those cases against the Deputy Minister.

The lawyer appearing for the petitioners said that Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake has stated that 95% of judges are corrupt.

He said that the Deputy Minister repeated his statement again outside the court on the day, the petition was taken up last time.

The lawyer also requested the court to obtain audio recordings of the statement from the media.

Then the Registrar was ordered to obtain them from media organizations accordingly.

Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayaka has arrived at the Supreme Court a short while ago.

He has appeared in courts to face alleged contempt of court charges.
