Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that the decision whether they will unite with the SLFP or not, to contest the forthcoming local government elections, will be made by the joint opposition parliamentarians.

The former president expressed these views in response to questions raised by journalists following a meeting held with MPs representing the joint opposition, at the former president’s residence last night.

UPFA Parliamentarian Kumara Welgama said that if they withdraw from the pact with the UNP, he has no issue in uniting.
