A group of parliamentarians raised the issue of alleged delay in investigations carried out by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.

Raising an oral question, JVP MP Bimal Rathnayake said that the delay has been caused by the inefficiency of the officers of the Bribery Commission.

At that juncture, 5 MPs and a Minister also pointed out that the Commission is delaying the probes into cases filed by them.

In addition, a draft bill to amend the Ordinance on Local Government elections was presented in parliament today (29).
