The Railway Control Room says that the train services on the Kelani-valley line from Avissawella to Kottawa and on the up-country line from Badulla to Nanuoya have been disrupted due to fallen trees.

Meanwhile, police said several accidents were reported from different parts of the country due to bad weather.

In Madolsima, two persons were injured when a tree fell onto a three-wheeler and a motorcycle yesterday.

They were admitted to Matigahatenna hospital and the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries upon admission to the hospital.

In Kiribathgoda, one person was killed and 5 others injured when a tree fell onto a moving lorry on the Wattala-Kiribathgoda road.

The incident occurred at around 10 pm yesterday (29).

Meanwhile, a fisherman was killed in Kahawa, Ambalangoda when his boat toppled due to rough seas.

The deceased, 46-year-old, is a resident of Hikkaduwa.
