It is reported that preparations are underway to use Police dogs to control protests.

Director of the Police Kennel Division, SSP Lal Senevirathna said that Police Canines are currently trained for such situations with the support of Scotland Yard Police.

Sri Lanka Police currently has around 160 trained dogs and are mainly deployed to raids against drug trafficking and other crimes.
