The Joint Trade Union Alliance of the Ceylon Electricity Board says that a continuous strike will be launched if a solution to their demands is not received by tomorrow.

Representatives of the union have been engaging in a hunger strike in front of the head office of the Ceylon Electricity Board for the last 7 days against several concerns including the haphazard increments given to executives while restricting bonus and medical allowances of other staff.

The union will have a discussion with the Secretary to the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy tomorrow to iron out their issues.

Speaking to our news team, the Secretary of the Joint Trade Union Alliance of the Ceylon Electricity Board, Ranjan Jayalal stated that a strike action will be launched if a solution is not received at this discussion.
