The official meeting between President Maithripala Sirisena and the visiting Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak was held at the Presidential Secretariat, this morning (18).
 
The Prime Minister of Malaysia who arrived at the Presidential Secretariat was warmly received there by President Maithripala Sirisena and a special Guard of Honour with 21-gun salute was accorded.
 
The Malaysian PM is undertaking his official visit to Sri Lanka to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
 
After a cordial meeting between the leaders, the bilateral discussions were held.
 
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe and several Ministers from both countries took part in the discussion.
 
Two MoU’s and another were signed between the two countries and a special commemorative stamp and a First Day Cover was issued to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Sri Lanka and Malaysia.
