Unidentified flu kills little boy in Jaffna

An 8-year-old boy died at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital this morning (27) suffering from unidentified flu.
 
The child who was a resident of Uduppiddy, had been admitted to Manthai Hospital in Jaffna with fever on 23rd of this month.
 
Later, he was transferred to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital, as his condition became serious.
 
However, the little boy died at the Hospital this morning.
 
The hospital authority has asked to conduct a post-mortem inquiry into the death to identify the cause of the death.
 
Our correspondent said that various myths are being spread in Jaffna about this flu.
 
Some people think that it was an effect of a  curse of a ghost.
 
It was revealed that already a team of experts sent from Colombo has begun investigations in Mullaitivu and Jaffna to identify the disease.
