Six navy personnel including the former spokesperson Commodore D. K. P. Dassanayake who are in remand custody were re-remanded until 16th of this month today (Jan. 02).
 
The remand term was extended when they were produced before Colombo Fort Magistrate, Lanka Jayaratne.
 
They are accused of their alleged involvement in the abduction and disappearance of 11 youths in 2008.
 
The Magistrate also ordered to issue an open warrant to arrest Lt. Commander Chandana Hettiarachchi who is also mentioned as a suspect in this case.
 
Meanwhile, the Hiru Correspondent said D. M. Wijekanthan, a witness in this case, who was attached to the Army Intelligence Unit had made a 'closed door' statement to the Magistrate.
 
It was allowed following a request made by his attorney.
