The operation to capture the stray leopard that had attacked several residents at a tea estate in Dickoya, Hatton has been delayed until a special cage is brought from Colombo.

Meanwhile, it is reported that a group of estate workers has staged a protest in the area demanding the authorities to capture the leopard.

The Police in collaboration with the Wildlife Department officials launched an operation to capture the stray leopard in Panmur Estate several days ago.

Seven estate workers are still receiving treatment at Nawalapitiya and Dickoya hospitals after being attacked by this leopard.
