Authorities have taken a decision to allow entry of 600 vehicles into the Yala National Park in view of the tourist season.

The decision has been made following a discussion chaired by President Maithripala Sirisena.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Minister of Wildlife Gamini Jayawickrema Perera and Minister Mahinda Amaraweera were among the participants of the discussion.

At present, only 500 vehicles are allowed to enter the Yala National Park and it is found that many visitors are unable to visit the park due to the existing entry limit.
